Collaborating Cross-Campus: A Comparison of Peer Mentorship Programs Across the UC System

Event Date

Location
UCD Conference Center, Conference Room B

Peer mentorship is a valuable practice that occurs in a variety of contexts, such as a student's lab, graduate program, and campus. As staff members, many of us have a significant input and impact on the latter learning environments, but we seldom engage with our counterparts at other UC campuses and share our mutual efforts to promote effective peer mentoring. Over the course of this session, we will compare and contrast the wide variety of peer mentor programs offered across the UC system, with a focus on the strengths that each campus offers in peer mentoring, as well as initiatives that target historically marginalized student populations. Who knows - another UC's practices just might inspire change in your own programming!
