Charis Herzon, UCSC Director HSI Initiatives

Charis leads the UCSC Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives which includes being the Principal Investigator of three current Department of Education HSI grants and Charis also chairs the UCSC HSI Leadership Committee.  Charis is uniquely positioned with over 20 years of experience at UCSC and she holds a broad perspective of the curricula, and institutional policies and changes.  Charis partners with students, faculty, staff and administrators to identify and address barriers to create multiple pathways to and through postgraduate opportunities with goals of educational justice for minoritized students.
