Dr. Sharon Milgram

Dr. Milgram, Director of the NIH Office of Intramural Training & Education, is responsible for the centralized oversight of training and policies that govern NIH trainees and has a passion for working with trainees at all levels. Her expertise includes the development and delivery of career and professional skills for early career scientists interested in biomedical, behavioral, and social science research.  Dr. Milgram earned a Ph.D. in Anatomy and Cell Biology at Emory University and trained as a postdoctoral researcher at The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to her position at the NIH, she held a faculty appointment in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology at the University of North Carolina, where she rose to Full Professor, served as the Director of the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences graduate program, and founded the UNC Office of Postdoctoral Services.
